In summary:
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) held its convention Oct. 7–11 in Anaheim. Thousands of doctors were in attendance.
More than 150 peaceful protesters gathered wearing purple T-shirts emblazoned with the message ‘First do no harm’ – a reference to the duty doctors have to their patients.
There was the inevitable counter-protest from activists who think it is okay to harm children with no good cause.
“Billboard Chris” a Canadian Dad who has been protesting against the medical harms of gender ideology with his sandwich boards for the last few years took the chance to show support and have conversations.
One of the first speakers was Abigail Martinez who told the story of how her daughter, Yaeli, was medically transitioned against Mom’s wishes and subsequently took her own life. With their customary lack of empathy, the counter-protestors drowned out Abigail’s emotional speech reducing her to tears.
As the disruptors became emboldened, the event’s organisers, led by Erin Friday, moved the rally indoors to a nearby conference room.
Abigail was able to finish telling the harrowing story of how her daughter was catastrophically let down by those who should have protected her.
The next speaker was Chloe Cole. Only eighteen, yet was medically transitioned at 13 including a bilateral mastectomy at 15, she is a walking testimony to the madness of gender ‘medicine’. Understandably, Chloe took a few moments to compose herself, and then her strength and wisdom shone through.
“I was fast-tracked on a destructive path, including puberty blockers and testosterone at 13 years old,” she said. “I come here today to represent fellow detransitioners and to sound the alarm on these abusive practices.”
Chloe highlighted the lack of attention paid by members of AAP, American Medical Association, and Children’s Hospital Association to the possible underlying causes of children developing transgender ideation.
She also criticized these three groups for sending a letter (pdf) to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland and the Department of Justice (DOJ) last week insisting that “disinformation” about transgender medical treatments must be blocked and people who spread it should be prosecuted.
Chloe also drew attention to her initiative to support detransitioners: detransunited.com
Backing up Chloe, were two more detransitioners, Abel Garcia and Cat Cattinson.
Scott Newgent, a mother, has become an outspoken champion for protecting children from gender medicine, since having undergone female-to-masculine treatments.
“I am seven years post-trans, and just like the only long-term study predicted, I have regret. But, after nearly dying from transition surgeries, I cannot detransition. I cannot endure another knife into my skin or open myself up for more stares and questions. I accept my body today because I have to,” Newgent said. “I’m a lesbian and I’m a trans man … who underwent a massive amount of irreversible surgery and cross-sex hormones to create an illusion of a male … but I am still a woman, and I will always be a woman.”

Describing transgender propaganda as “glitter bombs and unicorn farts”, Scott went on to implore pediatricians to stop harming kids:
“I ask, beg, and plead that the American Academy of Pediatrics to reverse course today—not tomorrow, today … Stop pushing puberty blockers, hormones, and surgeries on children and youth. Stop telling kids they were born in the wrong body.”

Dr Julia Mason, is one of very few doctors prepared to speak up publicly for truth and evidence to drive the care of youngsters with transgender ideation. She is a member of SEGM (Society for Evidence-based Gender Medicine).
Julia expressed the view that most pediatricians are “not on board” with the medical treatments being advocated by the AAP:
“I don’t think most pediatricians feel like the best solution to an unhappy 12-year-old is to block their puberty and put them into menopause.”

Dr Mason also criticized the recently passed state law making California a trans sanctuary state. And went on to dismiss the so-called ‘standards of care’ published in September by WPATH (World Professional Association for Transgender Health).
