It is important that those with the power to amplify our message or to legislate listen to what we have to say. Advocacy on its own is not enough. For our letters to be read by the right people, for our messages to be given the attention that they deserve, then those in power must recognize our standing. We must demand attention and have that demand met. This is why we demonstrate – so that Our Duty is recognized as standing for families against the propaganda put forth that we know to be false.

OUR DUTY IS JOINING OTHER GROUPS ON 10/21/23 AT A WORLDWIDE RALLY FOR SAFEGUARDING CHILDREN. IT’S TIME TO SHOW UP AND LET THOSE WHO ARE PASSING LAWS AND TEACHING KIDS INAPPROPRIATE MATERIALS TO HEAR FROM US. REGISTER BELOW AT THE QR CODE.

OREGON BILL INFORMATION:

“Attached is our legislative overview of Oregon House Bill 2002. It is a factual summary of the key elements of the bill. There’s something here for everyone to oppose. The intent is clear – for Oregon to be an abortion and gender affirming treatment sanctuary state. NOTE: Some of you on this email may be OK with portions of this bill, and adamantly opposed to other pieces – that is OK! We must fight against the elements of the bill we know to be wrong, and each of us may have a different take. Here’s a link to the overview:

https://olis.oregonlegislature.gov/liz/2023R1/Measures/Overview/HB2002

I’m working on a more outward-facing document, but I wanted to get this in your hands as soon as we had it. We need to gear up opposition to any/all elements of this bill. With this email group I’m specifically thinking of opposition to the gender components of the bill. If you can help us connect with people willing to provide testimony in written form or in person/virtual (local and national) it is greatly appreciated. I will follow up with more details on how to do that once the hearing schedule is posted on Oregon’s legislative website.

This bill is scheduled to be heard on March 20th and 21st although it is not posted on the legislative website. Two 90-minute sessions, perhaps longer. Expect a lot of testimony in support – we need to do the same in opposition! I’m available to discuss – 503.510.3415.

Sincerely,

Ed Diehl”
