On January 11th, 2023, a group of parents including members of Our Duty joined together to protest the teaching of transgenderism at the Davis Joint Unified School District board in California. The protest was prompted by the school inviting 12-year-old students to a talk hosted by a parent group featuring Rachel Pepper, co-author of “The Transgender Child.”
Pepper’s message undermines parental rights, puts children at risk of sexual predation and “grooming,” and presents gender ideology as fact “despite the lack of any scientific basis” to back up this assertion.

On December 15th at a prior meeting of the school board, parents, including Erin Friday from Our Duty, spoke up to inform the board of the dangers of teaching children gender ideology:
Of course, when schools teach children that they can be transgender it is inevitable that there will be a number of children who decide to adopt that idea.
