In response to their recent ideologically driven statement on “Gender Affirming Care” for minors
We recently read the Alberta Medical Association’s (AMA) February 1, 2024 statement in response to Alberta Premiere Danielle Smith’s proposed changes to the treatment of children and adolescents experiencing transgender ideation.
We were compelled to write an open letter to the AMA asking them to back up their ideologically motivated position from an evidence-based perspective.
We are sharing the letter with all of you in hopes that you download the letter, share it widely and use it as a template for your own. We included several relevant and up to date links that challenge the safety and efficacy of so-called gender affirming care that you can add to your letter or share individually, including “The WPATH Files” and the 20 year long Finnish study in the British Medical Journal that further debunks the dangerous suicide myth being sold to parents and confused children and adolescents.
The AMA seems to be either dismissing or unfamiliar with the growing body of evidence that shows that social and medical transition is harmful, can be permanent and is a complete medical scandal.
We hope to inspire all of you to write to the Alberta Medical Association as we have so that they might be pressured into retracting or reconsidering their closed minded and misguided position.
