Long-time friend and supporter of Our Duty, James Esses, has recently launched his own therapy practice, in which he is offering talking therapy to teenagers with transgender ideation, as well as parents of such teenagers. Many of you will be familiar with James’ advocacy and writing in pushing back against gender ideology, including his recent legal victories, which forced the UK Council of Psychotherapy to recognise ‘gender critical’ beliefs as valid professional beliefs for therapists to hold.
James is seeing a limited number of clients from his own private practice. He has also set up an online directory, called Just Therapy, which contains over 60 UK-based clinicians who share the same principles as James. These principles are:
- Non-Judgement
- Neutrality
- Identity-Politics Free
- Evidence-Based
- Exploration, Not Affirmation
- Resilience
- Free Speech
We know that parents looking for mental health support for themselves or their children struggle to find therapists that are not ‘ideologically captured’. James and his practice offer peace of mind that you and your children will be seeing someone ethical, explorative, and free from ideology.
You can get in touch with James directly via his website, or via email (mail@jamesesses.com)
