It is our mission to prevent and cure transgender ideation, but what is it?
Transgender ideation is the name we give to a mindset a person adopts when they start to believe that they are transgender. That is to say that they start thinking that they disconnected from the reality of their sex.
Transgender Ideation – Definition
Transgender Ideation: The process by which an individual comes to contemplate or believe themselves to be transgender. This ideation involves the initial formation and subsequent rumination on the notion that one’s perceived sex differs from their actual sex. If not dismissed, these thoughts may become persistent, potentially leading to further psychological, social and medical implications.
Transgender Ideation – Role
It is important to understand that transgender ideation occurs before the onset of ‘gender dysphoria’ or fake ‘gender dysphoria’. In order for a person to acquire the feelings of unease associated with denying their sex, they must first have started processing the idea that this is a possibility. It is for this reason that we are completely opposed to any promotion of any message, through any media, that might lead to a person thinking that being transgender is a valid possibility for them.
Transgender Ideation – Context
Transgender ideation is just one of many harmful ideations that people, particularly adolescents, can dwell upon resulting in possible harm. It can help understand transgender ideation by comparing it with other harmful ideations like self-harm.
