Where did this modern concept of gender come from?

How can we understand this separation of reality from words?

How can we look compassionately at transgenderism – whether the family is religious or not?

What can a parent do if their child adopts a transgender identity?

This video covers a lot of ground as Holly Peterson interviews Abigail Favale and Helen Joyce.

Entitled Body and Identity, and recorded in February 2022 for New York Encounter, it should be considered essential viewing for anyone new to the topic: particularly parents, but also health professionals, education professionals, social workers, and leaders of religious communities.

The so-called gender theory has caused widespread confusion and bewilderment. Thus, its content needs to be known and carefully tested against reality to the benefit of young people, parents, and educators. This critical assessment is all the more needed because of a general inclination, nowadays, to stop thinking about complex issues and go with the flow of the group one identifies with. Speakers have dedicated several years of their careers to studying the origin, content, policy-making consequences, and larger societal implications of the gender theory.
