In Canada, a devoted and brave father is confined to prison pending trial on April12th, 2021

Robert Hoogland has a daughter who wants to be a man. While we all know that it is impossible for a girl to become a man, and we know that it is a parent’s duty to lovingly bring their child back to reality, the authorities in Canada take a different view.

A father needs to be able to stand up and speak the truth to defend his family. That is all Robert Hoogland has been trying to do. What father would not wish to stop harmful medical experiments being carried out on his daughter?

For taking a stand, Rob Hoogland has been persecuted and oppressed by British Columbia. His human rights – to freedom of speech, to parent, to family life, to free association and to liberty, have all been deprived him by advocates of a baseless and violent ideology that has taken a grip on Vancouver’s institutions.

His crime? Standing up and being counted while trying to save his daughter. That is all. Robert Hoogland is in jail as a prisoner of conscience, no more, no less, in Canada.

More background can be found in an interview that Rob Hoogland gave to The Federalist in February, 2020:

On March 4 2021, Justice Tammen of the British Columbia Supreme Court issued an arrest warrant for Mr Hoogland for Contempt of Court.

On March 16th Mr Hoogland presented himself at court and was taken into custody.

At his bail hearing on 19th March the judge required Mr Hoogland to remove his name from his crowdfunding page (since the order in which Mr Hoogland is said to be in contempt forbids him from using his own name).

Robert Hoogland was then remanded into custody pending a trial set for April 12th

Carey Linde, lawyer for Rob Hoogland said:

“My client knew very well he could find himself where he now sits – in small cement cage. He is less surprised than I am. But the day will come when he is released. Then he can more comfortably and happily savor his remarkable achievement. He will experience comfort in the knowledge that ever-growing segments of society not only support him but have picked up the cudgel and are becoming active in their own communities.“
