UK parents belonging to Our Duty, a peer support group for families with a child that identifies as transgender, have written to the Secretary of State for Education, James Cleverly, and the two candidates to be UK’s next Prime Minister, Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak, requesting an urgent review into children adopting a transgender identity at school.

Spokesman, Keith Jordan, said “For almost all the families we support, the problems started at school. Schools would affirm a transgender identity, often without consulting the parents. Schools are teaching Relationships and Sex Education classes using materials that promote transgenderism as somehow equivalent to homosexuality. The truth is that any child identifying as transgender is a victim of a safeguarding failure. We must do better at protecting our children, particularly the vulnerable, from ideological crusades and bullying that can lead to well-publicised medical harm.”
